Dining Out

When I first became a vegetarian the hardest thing to adapt to was dining out with friends. It seemed like whenever we went out I could either eat a baked potato, a salad or grilled vegetables.

That was almost 5 years ago, and a lot has changed since then. Thanks to a number of animal advocacy groups nationwide, both chain restaurants and local eateries are consistently adding more vegetarian options to their menus. Even in small cities you can find all-vegetarian restaurants!

There are several types of restaurants that always have a great deal of vegetarian food, or can easily be adapted to suit a vegetarian, such as: Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Ethiopian and Middle Eastern.

If you want to find a restaurant that specializes in vegetarian food or at least has a great deal of options, be sure to check out Happy Cow. You can search for any city in the world and it'll give you the best vegetarian options in the area, with ratings and comments from users. There's even a fast-food vegetarian guide. Happy eating!
